Musical Sanctuary is a contemplative service of music, readings, and guided and silent meditation, exploring different topics and principles related to spiritual growth and healing. The services are offered by Musical Ministers who have backgrounds in related practices and training and are Certified Connect & Glow Instructors (CGCI).

My goal as a performing musician is sahridaya: "Hridaya is heart. Sahridaya means same-hearted, or possessed of heart, or having the consent of the heart...Abhinavagupta (11th century Kashmir philosopher) says that the open audience has an elevated capacity for wonder: 'Indeed, when they hear sweet songs, when they are no longer content with staying in the middle and being indifferent, when a vibration starts in their heart, then it is called the power of bliss and these become the same-hearted one.' This vibration in the heart is the aesthetic response. The heart of the artist opens, the audience opens, and both relish the experience. Then at that very moment, the same-hearted audience becomes one with the artist and becomes as great.” - Consciousness is Everything, Shankarananda.

As a musician with a sensitive attunement to energy I have found that all life experiences - joy, adversity, stress, loss, success - can be powerful inspiration for personal growth. I developed the original Connect & Glow exercise, “Brain Glow,” in my search for healing from a profound depression in the early 2000s, and the practice has grown to be a tool for upliftment and vibrant aliveness.

Ghosts grew up in the San Juan Islands and the Bellingham area in an artistically, intellectually, spiritually, and creatively-oriented home where music was central to life. Their true passion is for the process of creation and creativity itself, along with sharing it with others in ways that may inspire joy, peace, validation, empowerment, and any experience that lifts them up and enhances their lives. In 2020, after practicing advanced medical massage for thirteen years, Ghosts returned to school to study psychology, music, sound engineering and technology, and art in a variety of forms. These activities are led by a passion for composing and recording music that relates to social issues, psychology, spirituality, and philosophy.

The mission of Musical Sanctuary is to bring healing, inspiration, and upliftment with music, meditation, art, ceremony, movement, service, and the discovery and sharing of knowing and wisdom in spiritual community.

Nicoli Ann Bailey, President Personal Change and Astrological Consultant, working with clients nationally and internationally. Her practice includes consulting, teaching, lecturing and writing. Well versed in mythology, Jungian psychology, theology and energetic field theory, Nicoli weaves these threads into her work. She has worked in fields as diverse as Californian archaeology, public interest law, conflict resolution, and progressive politics, often as an advocate for the disenfranchised and marginalized.

Kumu Kapena Malulani Perez, Kahu The embodiment of Aloha Spirit and Director of Hālau Hula O Malulani, a non-competitive school dedicated to the perpetuation and preservation of the Hawaiian culture through formal education.

John Logan, Treasurer Retired CPA, avid mountaineer, and life-long student of Love, Abundance, and Miracles.

Jené King, Secretary Our hero who keeps the wheels rolling at Unity Church of Bellingham, and nurtures and supports the hearts and minds of family, friends, and ohana - with whom she shares beautiful gifts of creative and artistic crafting. .
